When was the guidance released and who is it for?
Covered car parks: fire safety guidance for electric vehicles was released from the Department of Zero Emission Vehicles on 11th July 2023.
The guidance is for car park operators, designers, risk assessors and owners who are installing EV chargepoints within covered car parks (both new and existing). It is intended to support a safe increased presence of EVs and EV chargepoints in new or retrofitted car parks.
