At Delta Smoke Control, we design and build smoke control and smoke ventilation systems that effectively remove smoke from warehouses and distribution centres during a fire. These are life-saving solutions that meet all related standards and regulations.
Smoke ventilation systems for warehouses and distribution centres help safeguard the lives of occupants, protect valuable goods, ensure business continuity, preserve property, and comply with applicable regulations.

Just like in any other building, the safety of occupants is paramount in a warehouse or distribution facility. In the event of a fire, smoke inhalation can be a significant risk to the health and well-being of employees and visitors. Implementing effective smoke ventilation systems helps limit the spread of smoke, allowing people to evacuate safely and providing more time for emergency responders to conduct rescue operations.
Warehouses and distribution centres often store valuable inventory, merchandise, and goods. Smoke can cause significant damage to these items, rendering them unsellable or causing financial loss. Smoke control systems help contain smoke to the area of origin, reducing the extent of damage caused.
Fires and the resulting smoke can disrupt operations in a warehouse or distribution facility, leading to delays in shipments, loss of productivity, and potential revenue loss. Effective smoke ventilation systems help minimise the impact on the facility and whilst helping protect the health of the team, allowing operations to resume more rapidly.
Smoke can have detrimental effects on the structural integrity of a building and its contents. It can corrode equipment, damage machinery, and compromise infrastructure. By implementing proper smoke control systems for warehouses, the extent of smoke damage can be reduced, thereby protecting the property and your assets.

The Regulatory Reform Order 2005 (RRO) came into effect in October 2006 and replaced over 70 pieces of fire safety law. The RRO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including warehouses, factories and distribution centres. The Government issued statutory guidance specifically in relation to the implementation of the RRO across the warehouse and factories sectors and at Delta Smoke Control, we have worked with partners in the sector – centre owners and developers to help them meet their obligations.
We have the expertise and the experience to advise on commissioning smoke ventilation systems and assist in designing effective smoke control systems for even the largest factory or distribution centre complex. We can also support your obligations with ongoing smoke ventilation system servicing and maintenance.
Compliance with these regulations is essential to ensure the safety of occupants and avoid legal consequences. Adequate smoke control measures help factory owners meet these requirements and maintain a safe environment for everyone. Case studies are available.
