At Delta Smoke Control, we test and maintain smoke control and smoke ventilation systems, ensuring these life-saving solutions meet all related standards and regulations.
Delta Smoke Control provides rigorous servicing and expert Smoke Ventilation System maintenance. Find out why maintaining smoke control systems in offices and mixed-use buildings matters. Our servicing capability was strengthened when Allcorn Engineering joined Delta in 2023.
Independently certified since 2019. Delta holds IFC Certification for the design, installation and commissioning of smoke control systems (certificate IFCC 3212) and for their service, maintenance and repair (certificate IFCC 6009). How we evidence competence.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO), your smoke ventilation systems must be serviced by someone fully accredited and third-party certified.
Delta Smoke Control is certified to both IFC SDI 19 and SDI 05, standards developed by the Smoke Control Association.
IFC has awarded the new certifications in recognition of Delta’s skill as a designer, installer, and servicer of smoke control systems. Whether you need a smoke control ‘competent person’ to commission an existing system or take over smoke ventilation servicing and maintenance, we can help. Our expert team is easy to reach and quick to respond.

Smoke vent testing confirms that every vent, actuator and control panel responds correctly when the fire alarm or a manual override triggers it. On each visit our engineers test the system end to end: vents open fully and on time, control panels and batteries are healthy, detectors and break-glass points signal correctly, and the fire alarm interface works as designed. Every fault is recorded, prioritised and quoted for, and you receive a report for your fire safety records.
Regular smoke control maintenance keeps your system in efficient working order, as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires, and reduces the risk of costly emergency repairs. We offer planned maintenance contracts for single buildings and multi-site portfolios, carried out by our IFC SMR-certified service team (IFCC 6009).
We’ve worked with a wide range of clients over the years – many of them subcontractors on large development projects – delivering for some of the biggest and most successful global companies.
