Goal

South Yorkshire Distribution Centre

When TJ Morris developed its new South Yorkshire distribution centre in Doncaster, Delta Smoke Control was appointed to design and deliver a robust smoke ventilation solution suitable for a large‑scale, high‑bay logistics environment. Working closely with Kingspan Light + Air and the project design team, we developed a natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation strategy using 61 Kingspan Eura ventilators integrated into the building envelope.

The ventilators provide dual functionality: day‑to‑day natural ventilation and smoke clearance under fire conditions, improving conditions for staff and providing assistance to fire fighting operations.  

Our scope included system sizing, zoning strategy and automatic control integration with the fire alarm, ensuring the Eura units open in the correct sequence with appropriate inlet air paths.

By combining Kingspan Light + Air products with Delta’s control expertise, the distribution centre benefits from a compliant, reliable and energy‑efficient day-to-day and smoke control solution aligned with the client’s operational needs.
